Unfortunately nobody gives a fuck about the opinion of the hardcore because they've all died, blown away, and/or sequestered themselves in mommy's basement. From the perspective of the hardcore, perhaps this was the peak in the series. A good game? Absolutely, but only if you were oldschool, raised on games like that, and tolerant of often tedious gameplay. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (2002) - Refined version of the first game, but still quite clunky at times (namely, most of the time) on account of level design/layout. Any gamer who has what it takes to stomach this IO original would have already been there and done that. Difficult to enjoy unless being played 'properly' as a silent assassin. Terrible controls, wildly inconsistent difficulty curve, obscure puzzle solutions, often terrible level layout. Hitman: Codename 47 (2000) - First game, awesome concept. That said, I shall now address the differences between the titles and thus explain why you're wrong and why you have no idea what you're talking about. Furthermore, take a moment to contemplate the profound degree to which you need to simmer the fuck down. Seems like a pretty damn foolish things to say if you haven't played the entire series.
